Transbilosomal Formulations
Abstract
Transbilosomal formulations are advanced lipid-based nanocarriers developed by combining the advantages of bilosomes and transferosomes. They are composed of phospholipids, bile salts, surfactants (edge activators), and cholesterol, which together provide high flexibility, stability, and enhanced drug permeation. Transbilosomes improve the bioavailability of poorly soluble drugs and facilitate drug delivery through oral, transdermal, ocular, and nasal routes. They are increasingly used for targeted and controlled drug delivery because of their ability to overcome biological barriers
