Instructions for Authors

All manuscripts undergo a rapid double-blind peer review process. Manuscripts of high quality that are not previously published or under consideration by another journal will be considered for publication.

Preparing Your Manuscript

Manuscripts must be submitted in the following format:

  1. Research Article

Research articles should clearly describe new and carefully confirmed results and experimental procedures. These details must be provided to an extent that allows any reader to verify the work. The article can be up to 2,500 words, excluding references and the abstract. To ensure proper referencing and fast publication, manuscripts must be grammatically correct. Both British and US English are acceptable.

The manuscript should be prepared in English using MS Word, with 2 cm margins on all sides (top, bottom, left, and right). Use "Times New Roman" font, with a font size of 12 pt for the main text and 14 pt for main subheadings. All scientific names of plants and microorganisms should be italicized. The manuscript should be double-spaced and include the following sections: Title Page, Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusion, Acknowledgments (if any), and References.

  1. Title Page
  • The type of article (Research or Review) and the title must be specified.
  • The title page should include the title in boldface, title case (font size 14 pt), followed by the names of the authors in normal face, upper case (font size 12 pt), and their addresses in normal face, lower case.
  • An asterisk (*) must be placed after the corresponding author's name as a superscript. The corresponding author’s email address, fax number, and telephone number can be provided at the bottom left corner of the title page.
  • The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that all co-authors are aware of and approve each part of the submitted manuscript.
  1. Abstract Page

The abstract should start on a new page and summarize the problems, experimental approach, major findings, and conclusion in one paragraph. It should not exceed 150 words and must avoid abbreviations, diagrams, and references. The abstract should be single-spaced.

  1. Keywords

Provide 4-5 keywords that identify the most important subjects covered by the paper. Place these keywords at the end of the abstract.

  1. Introduction

Include a brief introduction that states the purpose of the investigation and relates the manuscript to similar previous research. Only include information essential to the arguments presented.

  1. Materials and Methods

Detail the materials studied, instruments used, sources of specialized chemicals (if any), and related experimental procedures. This information must be sufficiently detailed to allow other researchers to reproduce the results, with appropriate citations. Obtain permission for any borrowed, adapted, or modified tables, and provide a credit line in the footnote.

  1. Results and Discussion

Present results concisely. The Results and Discussion sections may be combined or separate, depending on the author’s preference. Tables and figures should be designed to maximize comprehension of the experimental data. Discuss the interpreted results clearly and relate them to existing knowledge in the field. Tables, graphs, and figures should be inserted into the main text at the appropriate places and should have numbers, titles, and explanatory headings. The font size for headings of tables, graphs, and figures should be no smaller than 10 pt. Labels must be in text form and not part of the image.

For color photographs and illustrations (line drawings, halftones, photos, photomicrographs, etc.), use clean originals or digital files. Digital files are preferred for the highest quality reproduction and should meet the following guidelines:

  1. 300 dpi or higher, sized to fit the journal page.
  2. Preferred formats: JPG, PNG, JPEG, GIF, TIF.
  1. Conclusion

Provide a brief conclusion (up to 300 words) reflecting the importance and future scope of the research.

  1. Acknowledgments

Position this section at the end of the manuscript, before the References section, and limit it to 50 words. Acknowledge those who do not qualify for authorship but contributed significantly to the research, or acknowledge funding, donated resources, or other significant contributions.

  1. Conflict of Interest

Authors must declare any potential conflicts of interest.

  1. Funding

Include details of any funding sources.

  1. Author Contribution

Specify each author's contributions to the research.

  1. References

References should be numbered in the order of their appearance in the manuscript and cited in the text with superscript numbers. Follow these formats for references:

Citing articles published in the IJZELS in your references is encouraged.

Important Note

Authors must confirm that all animal studies were conducted in accordance with their country’s or institutions ethical guidelines. Additionally, authors must state that the manuscript has not been published elsewhere (except as a poster abstract at conferences/seminars or as part of a published lecture or academic thesis).

Review Article

The structure of a review article is at the author's discretion and should not exceed 3,000 words, excluding references and abstract. Abstract and keywords are required. Tables, figures, illustrations, and references should be organized in relevance to the content.

Ethical Matters

Authors using experimental animals and human subjects must obtain approval from the appropriate ethical committee in accordance with the “Principles of Laboratory Animal Care.” The Methods section must include a statement verifying that the investigation was approved and that informed consent was obtained.

Galley Proofs

Galley proofs will be sent to the corresponding author unless otherwise indicated. The corresponding author is responsible for returning the corrected proofs promptly to ensure rapid publication. The authors are solely responsible for the contents of their published manuscripts.
